The letter of 1 Corinthians was written to a church that had many struggles. The church of Corinth wrestled with division. Some were taking other believers  to court. One man was caught in sexual immorality. Still others were coming to the Lord's Table and getting drunk. There were those who questioned whether Christ had really risen from the dead. Others had questions about marriage, idols, spiritual gifts and the role of women in the church. Paul writes to the Corinthians to correct these doctrinal and behavioral issues.
